The following steps must be followed when setting up a driver with the GoDesta Driver app. Do not skip any steps below. If you are having issues with a driver that is not tracking, ensure that Step 2 and Step 3 below have been performed properly.
Step 1 - Installing the GoDesta Driver app from the Google Play Store
- Open the "Google Play Store"
- Search "GoDesta Driver" - if you don't see the GoDesta Driver app in your search results, make sure that your App Store is set to Australia. If you need assistance changing your app store location settings refer to Changing your Google Play Store location to Australia.
- Select "Install" to install the GoDesta Driver app onto the device.
- Select "Open" to open the GoDesta Driver app for the first time.
Step 2 - Logging into the app for the first time
- Login using you Email addresses and password you set during your account creation process.
- Select "Allow" when asked for access to the device's location. GPS Location is a core component of the GoDesta Driver app which allows the transport operator to be transparent with customers and monitor the progress of jobs effectively, ensuring safety for all drivers.
- Select "Allow" when aswked for permission to take pictures and record video. Access to the camera is important in collecting Proof of Delivery images.
- Select "Allow" when asked for permission to access photos, media, and files on the device. In cases where the app has failed to load (due to a bug) or the device is not working as intended, access to the device's photo library means that you will be able to take photos for Proof of Delivery outside of the app and upload those photos later.
- Select the vehicle that you are driving on that particular day. The selected vehicle will highlight blue.
- Select "Confirm"
Step 3 - Ensuring that device settings are compatible with the GoDesta Driver app
Update settings to ensure that the Android Device is not trying to “optimise battery” for the app. Unfortunately the "optimise battery" settings built into Android Devices are not compatible with the requirements of the GoDesta Driver app. This means that the following needs to be completed on every Android device.
- Open "Settings"
- Select "Apps"
- Select "settings icon" - top right corner
- Select "Special access" - Listed under "Advanced"
- Select "Battery optimization"
- Select "All apps" from drop down
- Select "GoDesta Driver"
- Select "Don't optimize"
- Select "Done"
