Note: This process can only be performed after a Fleet Asset (Truck) has been successfully created and saved.
Step 1
Go to the Fleet Administration Screen by click the following icon in the top left corner.
Step 2
Select the Fleet Asset you would like to add / Update “Service rates” to by using the search function.
Step 3
The user selects “Service Rates” from the Fleet Asset details menu under “Rate Details”.
- Create new rates if the Fleet Asset doesn’t have any by selecting the “Create New Rates” button in the top right corner.
- or view and edit the existing rate table.
Step 4
In the Edit View, you will end up with a screen like the below.
- Fleet Asset Service Rate Settings – In order for a job to be priced for the Fleet Asset, a Service Rate Table MUST be completed.

- The User selects all the rate and service types that are applicable.

- Fleet Asset Service Rate requires the user to complete the following information:
- Rate Table Name – this is used to identify the rate table
- Outside Metro Surcharge % - this is used to pay any additional costs associated with jobs that are outside of the metro area
- Valid From Date – This is so the user can set up a new rate table in advance
- Valid To Date – When the service rate table expires, the Fleet Asset will need a new Service Rate Table to be created, or the current one to be extended.
Time Rates
Step 3
For Time Rates, the user is prompted to enter the following information for each Service Type selected for Custom Rates:

- Rate – Amount ($) and Multiplier – This is how the charge will be applied on jobs
- Minimum Charge - # and Multiplier – This effects the pricing and will not allow the user to price the job if it does not meet the minimum charge
- Charge Increment - # and Multiplier – If this is set to 15 minute increments, the rate will be required to be charged in minimum 15 minute increments
- Grace – This is how any rounding is applied. If the charge increment is set to 15 minutes, the pricing screen will automatically round to a 15 minutes based on this grace type (round up, round down or nearest)
- Standby Rates – If standby rates DO NOT APPLY, these should be left as 0 in all fields. Standby Rates will only apply to Nicknamed/Common addresses that are marked as applying standby rates – refer to Common / Nicknamed addresses instructions.
- First Leg – This is used to assist the pricing of a job and will automatically calculate an approximate amount of time from a location to the first leg
- Last Leg – This is used to assist the pricing of a job and will automatically calculate an approximate amount of time from the last leg to a location
- Fuel Levy – If this is set to true, then Fuel Levy will be applied to the job
- Copy – if a user would like to copy a rate line item to other lines, the user can use the copy function.

Zone Rates
Step 4
Zone Rates – The user selects the Zone Rate tab from the top of the screen. They can then enter the Percentage that the Fleet Asset will be paid for Zone Rates. Zone Rates are NOT able to be set at the Fleet Asset Level at this stage as currently Zone rate pricing is calculated based on the Client Rate table.
Distance Rates
Step 5
Distance Rates – The user selects the Distance Rate tab from the top of the screen.
Rate Calculation Method
Anticipated Route - Based on the estimated route, as calculated at time of booking.
Distance Travelled - Based on the actual GPS route taken by the driver, as recorded by the GoDesta Driver app.
Suburb Centres - Based on the estimated route between the centres of the suburbs of the pickup and drop off locations.
Minimum Charge - Minimum distance (KM) or Minimum Dollar amount for the Job to be charged.
Increment Charge Every - Set number of KMs to be bill at and to set the rounding to be Up, Down or Nearest increment.
Fuel Levy - Option to apply or not apply Fuel levy to the distance rate
Additional Travel Time
Option to add on Travel time to Depot prior to the Job
Option to add on Travel Time to Depot or Return to pickup after the final delivery
Demurrage
Demurrage Rate Application - Option to Apply Demurrage, or apply based on Common Address settings or Don't apply Demurrage.
Demurrage Rate (Per Hour) - Set amount to Charge demurrage per Hour
Demurrage Applies After - Set duration in Minutes when demurrage starts to apply
Fuel Surcharge Applicable - Ability to set if the Fuel surcharge will apply to the demurrage charge or not.
Charge Calculation Method
Base Freight Charge - The flat fee component of the overall charge
Progressive - The rate charged will be based on the total distance travelled, with the rate increasing or decreasing as the distance increases.
Absolute - The rate charged will be based on the distance travelled falling within a specific range of distances, with the rate being the same for all distances within the range.
Ranges
Ability to set a range of distances and charge them at different rates
Once all the rate information has been entered select the "Confirm" button in the bottom left.
Step 5
Once all rate information has been entered click the “Save New Rates” button
Step 6
Unit Rates – The user selects the Unit Rate tab from the top of the screen. They can then enter the Percentage that the Fleet Asset will be paid for Unit Rates. Unit Rates are NOT able to be set at the Fleet Asset Level at this stage as currently Unit rate pricing is calculated based on the Client Rate table.
Step 7
Once the user has selected all applicable rates and completed the relevant information, the user selects the “Save New Rates” Rates button.
Setting Truck Fuel Surcharge
Step 8
Once the Fleet Asset has been selected, the user selects “Fuel Surcharge” from the Fleet Asset details menu.
In the Fuel Surcharge section, either create new Fuel Surcharge if the Fleet Asset doesn’t have any or view and edit the existing Fuel Surcharge.
- Select the “Save” Button to save the changes.
